Lodging Requirements

VACCINES:

To ensure a happy and healthful lodging it is very important that your pet is current on all vaccinations.  We require this for the safety of your pet, our other guests, and our employees. Your veterinarian should fax us your pet's vaccination record prior to your check-in.

The following  are required vaccinations for our canine guests:

DHLPP-- vaccine current within the last 12 months to provide protection against Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, and Canine Parvovirus.

Bordetella-- vaccine should be current within 6 months for the intranasal administration. The yearly injectable vaccination is also acceptable.

Rabies-- vaccine current in the past 12 months for puppies and the past three years for adults.

Intestinal Parasite test-- vaccine current within the last 12 months.

*Dogs under the care of a DVM with a three year vaccination protocol may be accepted with the recommendation or documentation from their veterinarian.

The following are required vaccines for our feline guests:

Rabies-- current within the last twelve months for kittens and adults receiving PUREVAX.  Current in the last three years for casts receiving IMRAB.

Intestinal Parasite Test-- current within the last twelve months for indoor/outdoor cats. Not required for indoor only cats.

FLEAS AND TICKS:

All guests will be screened upon check-in for fleas and ticks.  Should either be found on your pet, you will be asked to return when your pet is flea/tick free.  Consistently administered flea/tick preventative is highly recommended.  Your veterinarian can recommend the appropriate medication for your pet.  Animals will be accepted for boarding or other services when flea and tick preventative has been administered prior to check-in. We also reserve the right to immediately bathe any pet that enters or is found to have fleas and/or ticks while boarding. The customer will be charged for this bath.

Health and Safety:

Health and safety are crucial to us.  Several staff members have been trained by the American Boarding Kennels Association in CPR and First Aid for pets. All of our pet guests will have individual recorded profiles to include medical records, personality profiles, special needs, and emergency contact numbers for owners and the veterinarian of choice should it be needed.  We use disinfectants as recommended for boarding kennels. We are proud to say that our Inn will be spotless, sanitary, and bacteria free.

Should emergencies arise, the owner or an emergency contact person, will be contacted immediately.  Transport to the Triangle Pet Emergency Clinic or an area veterinarian will be made should the owners not be available.  Charges incurred will be the owner's responsibility.  Our contract details this emergency policy.  This can be reviewed and signed at check-in time.

For your pet's safety, our facility has 24 hour fire and security monitoring.  The managers are notified immediately by the monitoring company should a security or fire situation occur.   Personnel can be onsite within minutes should an emergency arise. fire and emergency services are available within two miles from the Inn with the Caldwell Fire Department.

Special Considerations:

Puppies and kittens boarded should have completed all the required vaccinations, including the Rabies vaccination prior to boarding. This usually occurs around 4-5 months of age. This is to assure your pet’s immune system is fully developed prior to entering  the boarding environment.

Animals in estrus (heat cycle), cannot be accepted for boarding. This is to assure the safety and health of all our boarders, since we do not require our boarders to be neutered. Should you question the status of your pet’s estrus cycle, we may accept documentation from your veterinarian regarding the appropriateness of your pet boarding with us.
